Gilpin County is a rural community in Colorado’s high country, neighboring the Continental Divide, yet less than an hour west of downtown Denver. Gilpin County is home to the towns of Central City and Black Hawk, which provide limited-stakes gaming and a vast array of outdoor recreational activities.

As the site of Colorado’s first major gold strike, Gilpin County is rich in heritage tourism sites. With the famed Central City Opera House, the Teller House, the Gilpin History Museum, the Lace House, the Thomas House, the Mountain City Historic Park, and a variety of other attractions, we offer exciting and experiential activities for the whole family.

Come stay for the weekend! We have four large hotel/casinos and several quaint bed and breakfasts that will accommodate your lodging needs.

Gilpin County is easy to find, with several routes from Denver. Drive your own car or take one of the shuttle bus services.
